William Grant's father was also named William, and was a native of Ireland. He came to America early in the eighteenth century, settled in the United States, and was a soldier in the Revolutionary War." Does this account correctly identify William Grant as Jarvis Grant's paternal grandfather? Or was he really Samuel Grant who came from near Dublin, Ireland in the 1770s? If they weren't the same person, were they related, maybe brothers?
