MARRIAGE-BIOGRAPHY: Letters from William R Langford, Phoenix, AZ, to Rick Crume, Glyndon, MN; 1766-1839; Letters dtd 14 Jun 1976 & 18 Jul 1976; ; (Rick Crume's file #C 37); NOTE: Moses married Sarah Marks 19 Apr 1787 in VA and Anna Morehead 18 Sep 1829. Moses was born on Flint Run Farm in Shenandoah, VA (now Warren County). He was only 17 years old when, with his elder brothers Ralph, Daniel and Jesse, he went to Kentucky on an investigative expedition. Moses was ordained a Methodist Minister before Sept. 9, 1788, for then he performed the marriage ceremony for his father, Philip, and the second wife, Anna Barrett. According to his tombstone in the College Corners Cemetery, Oxford, Butler, OH, "In 1787 he became a Christian," so he may have been ordained in that year. He died of a stroke (apoplexy) on April 1, 1839.

Knittle, has marriages from 1771 to 1812, but the marriage records from Oct. 16, 1782 to Mar. 9, 1807 are missing. Were Tobias Schaubhut and his wife Mary/Maria married in this church during that period?
