Directions: Take Interstate 75, exit 233 (Morrow exit), turn left onto Jonesboro Rd, travel for 1.5 miles. The Archives will be on the right. Parking is free.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closed for state and most federal holidays as well as the Saturday preceding a Monday holiday or immediately following a Friday holiday.

Collection Scope: Extensive holdings for Georgia.

Special Collections: In addition to original state records, the Archives has microfilm copies of many pre-1900 county and federal records, including Civil War records of Confederate soldiers from Georgia.

Reference Services: The staff can perform limited research for a non-refundable fee, $15 for Georgia residents or $30 for non-residents, payable by check or money order. The fee covers twelve photocopies, a report of sources checked if nothing was found, or a list of suggested sources for additional research. Records which can be searched include county records (estates, marriages, tax digests and deeds), state and federal military records and census records. Copies: Copies cost 30 cents per page from microfilm and original documents (unless oversized) and 20 cents per page from published materials and vertical files. The price for copies of oversized items varies.

Circulation: Materials may not be checked out of the Archives.

Interlibrary Loan: The Georgia Archives does not participate in interlibrary loan.
