"1900: "Victoria Corner - M & M J York wish to thank the neighbors who assisted in getting up wood at the frolic last Monday. After only about 3 hours notice, 24 men and 8 teams & one sawing machine appeared on the spot. After a good dinner was partaken of the teams got to business. About 24 loads fell to the ground. We haven't seen the sun since for chips. After all was done, supper was served by Mrs York, who can do it to perfection."
West Side Notes: A number of men & teams turned out & hauled a grand pile of wood to the home of Percy York. Mr. York has not been able to work since Christmas time and recently suffered a very bad turn from which he is slowly recovering.
