1Thomas Bullock Lloyd Esq. to Samuel Jones, lease of Llwynfilly and Cocket, 1 May 1788.
The 30" x 30" parchment was in the possession of Pauline Crawford, a great-granddaughter of Samuel Jones's son Evan. Rick Crume's file M 1124.
"Thomas Bullock Lloyd of the town of Brecon in the county of Brecon Esquire of the one part and Samuel Jones of the parish of Lanigon [sic] in the county of Brecon Yeoman... messuages tenements and LANDS commonly called ... Llwynfilly and Cocket ... in the Parish of Lanigon [sic] in the County of Brecon heretofore in the possession and occupation of Ann Wood widow tenant and assigns and now in the possession and occupation of the said Samuel Jones... from the second day of February last past ... for and during and until the full end and term of TWENTY ONE years... and paying therefore yearly and every year and during the term hereby granted unto the said Thomas Bullock Lloyd his heirs or assigns the rent or sum of SIXTY THREE POUNDS -- of lawful money of Great Britain by two half yearly payments (that is to say) on the second -- day of August and the second day of February in every year... AND also wielding and delivering yearly by way of custom unto the said Thomas Bullock Lloyd his heirs or assigns one fat goose and two fat hens at Christmas... It is further agreed ... that ... Thomas Bullock Lloyd ... will permit ... Samuel Jones ... having the most usual or convenient part of the farm called Warralib situate in the Parish of Lanigan [sic] ... and it shall and maybe lawful to and for the said Samuel Jones ... to reserve free liberty of ingress and regress ... by doing as little damage as possible to the said Thomas Bullock Lloyd ... or the tenants of the said town called Wennalet..."
